Happy Holidays

2008 December 25
by Hedon

Stace and I just wanted to say thanks for making the last few months so fun for us. We always look forward to your comments and to just getting to know you all a little better each day. This blogging thing is way more fun than even I had hoped it would be and a big part of that is thanks to you all.

And, although I don’t generally cotton to following the crowd so I was tempted to do this next week, we’d like to wish each of you a very Happy Holiday today no matter how you celebrate it. We hope your day is filled with friends, family, fun and  –  more than anything else  —  we hope it’s filled with laughter.

Happy Holidays,

Hedon and Stace

Thanks Hedon. Finding your blog has certainly improved my day to day. Thanks to you both for being yourselves and for your excellent writing.

    You two totally rock!

    Right back at ‘ya!

I haven’t read your whole blog yet, but I discovered you on the Ask and Ye Shall Receive blog and have been checking in regularly ever since. I love your sense of humor and I find the trucking stories interesting. I tend to think of good blogs and good writers as an unexpected gift from the internet – and you two are certainly a gift. Thank you.

Oh, and happy happy! Hope the wind is at your back, the boobery status is low and the shiny side is always up.

The discovery of your blog has been my best gift this year (well, maybe the second….I did get a Kindle, you know). I enjoy reading you guys SOOOO much. You make me laugh and think and want to share your words with others. I even find myself starting sentences with, “The Hags said…” or “Today on the Hags…”

I think the attraction is heightened by the fact that I don’t know Hedon’s real name. THAT is killing me. I keep thinking one of these days she’ll slip up and sign her real name in the “Written by:” section. Not that it would matter, I’d still call you Hedon.

I’m glad you got on the blogging boat and I look forward to the coming year and more of both of your writing.

Thanks again for the QUALITY reading material and the fun!

Thank you all for the kind words. :-)

I think the biggest chance of a slip up on Hedon’s name would be from me. Hedon previews all my posts to make sure I used her “correct” name. It’s gotten so that I find myself calling her Hedon in normal conversations now. She loves it, of course. She has even mentioned wanting to legally change her name to Hedon.

And Selena, did you see that they are giving away about 10 books for the Kindle this month? Loving freebies, I downloaded them all and have already read three or four of them, several of which were pretty good. Offer ends in January. If you can’t find the list of them, let me know and I’ll shoot you the titles.

I was thinking that maybe in about six more months when you are all quite sure that “Hedon” has been firmly fixed in your minds… I might reveal the other name. Not that there’s anything wrong with the other name at all — it’s quite pretty. As a matter of fact one of the people who hangs out here has the same name and it seems to suit her quite well.

But it just doesn’t fit me. It’s kinda like when I try to refer to myself using the word “girl” and I just balk and can’t get it out. “Woman” is not much easier, but I can usually get that one out.

So hang in there. Real name may be revealed eventually as long as you all agree you would never dream of actually calling me that… :)
