Great Trucking Blogs

Trucking makes the world go round. At least that’s what we truckers think. Most of us also think that we’re pretty lucky cause we see a lot of things that most people don’t. Truckers have been called Modern Day Hobos, New Age Outlaws, and Diesel Renegades. While most of us don’t view our lives in quite so romantic terms, we do live a life that is markedly different from the ordinary. If you’re interested in a sneak peak into the trucking life, check out some of these blogs:

Gi-Gi Roxx   Gi-Gi is the author of one of the most interesting trucking blogs out there. She’s a veteran trucker who drives solo for The Big Pumpkin. Not only will you enjoy her interesting posts, you will also love the pictures she takes along the way. Go check her out.

The Daily Rant   Follow Salena and Eddie around as they deliver freight all over the lower 48 and Canada. Salena’s writing is sure to make you laugh out loud and will probably have you falling for either her or Eddie (or possibly both) in short order. As an added bonus, her frequent photos from the road are simply stunning.

Decorina and Skylar   Decorina is part truck driver, part decorator and part political activist. Skylar is all adorable. Personally, I credit Decorina with the fact that Obama took Colorado. Her Blog is lots of fun, well written and it’s informative… and I don’t mean that fake-informative made-up crap that you read around here. When I want to know what’s going on in the world, she’s one of my first stops.

It’s PRIMEtime!   Team drivers for Prime, Inc. They just started blogging so this is your chance to get in at the beginning. Follow them as they live the life and blog about it.

Truckindogs Den   Ride along with Truckin Dog and Jesse as they travel the back roads and deliver the freight on time. Trucking Dog is an old pro both in trucking and in blogging so there’s always something interesting going on over there in the den. As a bonus, Truckin Dog will load you up with lots of cool retro 70s music and videos. Drop by the den and give them a howl.

Gypsy Trucker   I had to debate whether or not to link to this blog. All of the blogs here are interesting sites that are updated fairly often. If you visit them and read much you will likely end up building a relationship with the authors. Gypsy Trucker is no longer being updated so it’s not an ongoing project. But it is interesting because it’s the story of one young woman’s path into trucking and her take on what she experienced during her first few months. If you’re thinking about a career in trucking, you might want to check it out.

Road Rage   Interesting blog by an experienced female trucker who has a dedicated route that takes her right through NYC once a week. Not a lot of truckers see the same customers every week so she has a very good perspective on something different in the trucking world. Also, she tells really good stories.

The Journey Back   He is still in trucking school, so you’re really getting in on the ground floor with The Hilmar Kid. It’s nice to read a blog by someone who is excited about trucking. Seems like after you get out there for a while your enthusiasm can wane, but reading this blog will bring back how exciting school was when you made your first perfect alley dock.

Truck Driver Blog   Aaron over at the Truck Driver Blog makes trucking movies. Good trucking movies. He also writes good trucking blog posts. Go check him out and I think you’ll be glad you did.
